About Us
Island Style custom boats was started out of an addiction for boats. After owning numerous production and semi-custom boats, and spending overwhelming hours fishing for species varying from red drum to king mackerel to marlin to giant bluefin tuna and more, the decision was made to combine all of these experiences and create the best of all worlds in a custom built boat with fishabilty, comfort, and performance. Being located in southern North Carolina at Ocean Isle Beach, we are extremely privileged to have the opportunity to fish for a wide range of species from as close as ½ a mile near shore to as far as 70 plus miles offshore. Our area is not known usually as a big boat area, as our canal systems and inlets can be restrictive to depths of 3 feet on low tides. With these parameters, and today's fuel concerns, we developed a versatile new fishing boat with attitude. Island Style has become a truly community development. With the name coming from a boat naming contest where local charter captain Captain David Hooks, took the prize from over 300 entrants. Everyone from charter boat captains, shrimp boat builders, commercial fisherman, weekend warriors, and ma and pa from down the street have contributed ideas of layouts and styling. With an open door policy, numerous spectators stop by daily to see the true work of art unfold. And with each passer by, they leave praising the true dedication to quality and styling for our custom built yachts.
